Custom Solutions
Support your organization's mission, whether it's tackling food deserts, creating jobs, or educating communities about sustainable agriculture.
Proven Impact:
Partner with a trusted company with a proven track record for making an impact through local food coast to coast to coast.
“I hear all the time from community members about the lack of variety and the lack of fresh stuff on the shelves in the grocery store. We really see this as a need for our community.”
- Korie Marshall, head farmer at Village Greens
Valemount Learning Society
Installed Summer 2020 in Valemount, B.C.
Project goal: Improve local food security by filling a need in the community for fresh food while supporting the organization’s mandate.
Distribution model: Produce is offered directly to the community through a weekly subscription box and sold to nearby independent grocery stores.
Impact: The organization stepped in to keep the farmers’ market running and expanded with a modular farm to start growing fresh produce for the central B.C. community.
Operator: One operator leads the project, with volunteers signing up to help distribute the greens at the farmers’ market.
Reena
Installed march 2023 in Vaughan, Ontario.
Project goal: Add a source of kosher produce, new stream of revenue, and employment opportunities for Reena.
Distribution: Produce is sold to kosher catering businesses on site, local restaurants, and speciality grocery stores.
Impact: Reena and Growcer collaborated to create the first accessible modular vertical farm in Canada. They achieved Kosher certification and their catering partner cooked 25,000 kosher meals by the end of 2023.
Operator: One lead grower runs the farm, with volunteers occasionally.
“This project could go in multiple ways. We can grow this substantially to create greater employment, sustained food access, and to increase the involvement of the community in Reena.”
— Bryan Keshen, CEO, Reena
