Social Enterprise Associate

Problems? You solve them. Resources? You find them. As the Social Enterprise Associate it is your job to connect with customers and aid them in the development of their own social enterprise, using Growcer systems as a platform to create social employment, stimulate local economies, and bring good food to people that need it. You create a plan and make it happen; locating resources and acting on ideas, all while keeping an eye on budgets and timelines. You are a main point of contact for our clients; and as such you represent the company and must embody the core values of The Growcer. This is a fulltime position working out of Ottawa.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist client with the development of their business plans
  • Connect with clients to understand their needs and goals; develop and implement a plan to ensure those goals are met
  •  Locate and deliver community opportunities for social entrepreneurial action and community engagement for the client
  •  Support the development of social enterprise plans  
  • Identify funding opportunities for client business needs
  • Manage expectations and day-to-day interactions with clients
  • Develop a “support structure” that will be used with various clients
  • Act as a counselor and coach; provide support to clients as they pilot their businesses
  • Work closely with the operations team to identify areas of improvement

What You Have  

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment
  • Ability to develop plans and work within deadlines
  • Ideally French/English bilingual, knowledge of an Indigenous language such as Inuktitut considered an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good judgment and sense of personal responsibility, exceptional maturity, professionalism, and ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
